Asphalt Rakerman Position

START DATE:    IMMEDIATELY

**MUST HAVE EXPERIENCE - please do not apply if you have no asphalt raking experience**

Reporting to the foreman, the Asphalt Rakerman is responsible for raking hot asphalt and spreading asphalt mixes to the proper grade, so asphalt seams are eliminated and asphalt edges are clean. We offer our employees competitive wages (paid weekly), on-the-job training, health and dental benefits, as well as life insurance, an excellent opportunity for professional growth and more!

Qualifications that are required: 

• Work well in a team environment
• Rake and spread asphalt mixes to the proper grade
• Rake asphalt with precision and detail and joint match to existing asphalt
• Tamp and smooth joints, gutters and connections in order for asphalt mixtures to properly adhere to old surface
• Smooth out all honeycombs and other defects which may appear after tamping and/or rolling of the asphalt surface
• Promote, execute and adhere to the company's safety program, including taking part in all safety meetings
• Able to comprehend new information and techniques quickly 
• Comfortable working long hours, including possible weekend work and night shifts
• Hard working, physically fit and able to lift 20lbs or more

Requirements: 

• Minimum 2-3 years experience in raking asphalt
• Has own transportation to and from work
• CSA approved steel toed work boots 
• Willing to work overtime, as required
• Safety certifications considered an asset
